The Green 53 Boutique Hotel is located in Ilhéus Historic City Center, on the southern coast of the state of Bahia, known as the Cacao Coast.

LAND ROUTE

Departing from Salvador by BR-101, the distance to Ilhéus is 460 km. Crossing Todos os Santos  Bay by ferry boat, the distance to Ilhéus is 310 km. The BR-101 is the main access to Itabuna, continuing along BR-415 to Ilhéus. For those who come from Salvador, Valença, Camamu or Itacaré, BA-001 is an alternative access. Access by highway BA-001, road connecting Ilhéus to Itacaré, takes approximately 50 minutes.

BY AIRPLANE

Arriving at Ilhéus Airport – Jorge Amado (IOS), with daily flights from the airlines: TAM, GOL, Azul and Avianca. We offer transfer from the airport of Ilhéus to the Hotel through our own receptive (Órbita Turismo and Expedições).

VESUVIAN BAR

Opened in 1919 by two Italians, the bar gained fame as it was setting of the Gabriela Clove and Cinnamon novel by the Bahian writer, Jorge Amado.

BATACLAN

The old cabaret and casino was frequented by the cocoa elite and worked until the 1940s. Today, the place has been restored and functions as a restaurant, on its menu typical regional ingredients. The space also has a taproom, cigar shop and halls for exhibitions and shows.

JORGE AMADO’S HOUSE OF CULTURE

The former residence of the Amado is worth a visit. It was at the place where Jorge Amado began his first writings. In 1997, the house was renovated and the Casa de Cultura Jorge Amado was opened.

COLONEL MISAEL TAVARES HOUSE

The house that was built in 1922, today operates Freemasonry is open to the public and brings records of the daily life of its owner, Colonel Misael Tavares, who was one of the richest men in Bahia.

SÃO SEBASTIÃO’S CATHEDRAL

The cathedral is one of the main points of the city and was inaugurated in 1967, after 36 years of construction.

SÃO JORGE’S CHURCH – MUSEUM OF SACRED ART

The oldest church in the historic center was inaugurated in 1556. It also houses the city's Museum of Sacred Art.

PARANAGUÁ PALACE

Built in neoclassical style in 1907, the palace houses the City Hall of Ilhéus and is one of the most beautiful constructions of the interior of the state.

MUNICIPAL THEATER OF ILHÉUS

Inaugurated in December 1932, the Municipal Theater of Ilhéus was originally named Cine-Teátro Ilheus.
